I built (in)Dependence solo, as an addict, and a gamer. I loved what the bigger apps have done with a clean time counter. It helped me get clean. But I also knew it could be done better.So I did it better. I made an app with an evolving AI Companion. Yes, that's right. Based on your addiction - you get a companion, that evolves into different forms, based on your clean time. Not only this, but I took the time to make extra skins to award the user for logging in, doing daily wellness tasks, and just being a member of the community. These are earned by levels. I also made custom rank badges for clean time (30,60,90,180,365,etc) days clean. Multiple addictions? That's fine. 24/7 AI chat in case it's 2am and a craving hits? Yes. Urge resistance with breathing exercises or just private journaling? Yep. And I'm not done yet. I'm super open to any and all feedback. I want this app to have everything somoene needs in their pocket to help their recovery journey or quitting their addiction! I was once addicted, lost my kid, almost lost my life to myself, and I found hope in recovery and it started with downloading an app. I'm hoping I can give that same energy back to the world with my app - (in)Dependence, on iOS.
